Twilight...

About three things I was absolutely positive:
First, Edward was a vampire.

And so the obsession begins. Once I started this book, there was no turning back, I was hooked. I want to be Alice, she is just the perfect friend and who doesn't want to be perfect?
I think this book was very well written, so much so that there is no way a reader cannot finish the who series, it just sucks you in and holds onto you tight. Although I must say, I wish Edward would be a bit more...adventurous, especially in the following books. Sometimes I just wanted to scream 'just go for it'! But of course, that is what makes Edward so..Edward, the perfect gentleman that we all know and love.

Lolita you are so right. Everything you said is 100% true. I wonder though if Stephanie expected Alice to be more loved the Bella and Edward. That's how it seems, don't you think? Everyone loves Alice the most.

Alice is perfect in every way. She has no hangup, as opposed to Bella who has an endless amount of them. I think that is why Alice is liked more, who wouldn't want to be so confident, so loving, and so beautiful? I mean, come on, I know Bella is the star of the show (so to speak) but one does get tired of her constant whining and lack of confidence (oh no beautiful Edward, don't stand next to me, I am too plain or Edward please don't buy me a sexy cool car, why would a girl like me deserve that?) If a man like Edward wanted to lavish and love me who am I to complain? Alice wouldn't complain

I don't think SM ever intended for Alice to more than a side kick, but she evolved into a star of her own in most fans eyes (not to mention, Ashley Greene is cute as a button)--in my opinion.
